Welcome To Smokey Watson Barbecue!
Whenever you mention a barbecue you always think about a good ole gathering! Where people bring things to contribute to the get together! It brings people together across lines that sometimes won't normally be crossed! That's the heart of Smokey Watson BBQ! With so many things in this world made to keep us divided it was my passion to Cook a Food to bring us together!
Meet The Pitmaster
Born in Mississippi and moved to Louisiana to be with my brother Frank after my mom's death, being the last of eleven children I didn't cook much. 😂. My mom, the late great Betty Jean Watson is the best chef I've ever known. Everything except her good fried chicken was a quick cook. Everything else had to marinate, simmer, baste, stir, or smother! Just good old fashion Mississippi Delta cooking! Those were my roots.
Mississippi to Louisiana
Moving to Louisiana was a culture shock food wise. Seafood, cajun spices, jambalaya, boiling, creole seasoning etc. In the midst of all of this I find a love for BBQ! Smoking is a passion people have been having for thousands of years. We have just been recently called Pitmasters. So when you come to Smokey Watson BBQ get ready to meet my lovely wife Libbey, my assistants, a taste of Mississippi and Louisiana and little ole me! Spread the love!
